Our Safaris

What we do best.

Nali Safaris offer a selection of tours through Namibia, Botswana (Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park and Victoria Falls). These range from the scheduled budget camping safari through to luxurious Accommodated, Camping, Private and Fly-In safaris. Aside from guided safaris we also offer a selection of Self Drive tour itineraries for those not wanting to travel with a guide or group. Our trips are split into 3 different sections:

1. Scheduled Group Safaris

These are a type of safari where you decide to join a group of like-minded people on a set itinerary on scheduled departure dates. These trips are fully guided in a small group. We offer camping scheduled safaris and accommodated scheduled safaris. These trips are a perfect solution for budget-conscious travelers low on price, big on experience.

2. Guided Private Safaris

This is a safari that is exclusive to you and hosted from the moment you arrive on safari to the end of your trip by an expert safari guide. The itinerary is designed exclusively around your needs. This can be for 1  or 2 people, can be for a group of friends that choose to travel in their own group.

3. Self-drive

This is when you decide to get behind the wheel on the open roads of Namibia but with our 24 hour back up support. We have years of knowledge regarding what to see, when to see it, Namibian road conditions, accommodation establishments, camping sites, vehicle rental and anything else you may want to know about. General information

These trips are inexpensive and they are the best option to see the highlights of Namibia but still with comfort. We provide good quality equipment, three meals a day with an enjoyable evening dinner around the campfire – we place a strong emphasis on our bush cuisine.
Most of the safaris will use our  modified Toyota Hillux or LandCruiser 7-8 seater vehicles with pop-tops and a trailer if need be for baggage and camping equipment. The vehicles are modified with comfortable seats for more leg room and has large windows for excellent game viewing. The pop-top roofs are great for photographing wildlife in the park. Smaller groups may travel in either a minibus or 4WD double cab or similar. The tents are dome type which are easy to assemble, your mattresses are approximately 5cm thick and everyone has a camp-chair with a backrest.

Group Participation. There is very limited participation on the trips. Group participation is limited to putting your own tent up and down as your Guide and Camp Assistant are there to maintain other jobs.

All safaris will be conducted in English.
Clients are limited to one soft bag per person with a maximum weight of 15kg. This does not include camera equipment. Dust can be a problem for cameras, zip camera bags are a good idea.
Clothing and Footwear recommendations: t-shirts and long-sleeved shirt; shorts / skirts; longtrousers / slacks; tracksuit; underwear and socks; swimming costume; comfortable walking shoes; soft hat; good quality sunglasses; during winter, (May to August) a warm jacket or mid layer (fleece or wool) – for cool nights and early morning gamedrives. Camera, film & binoculars; personal toiletries; torch; visas (if required); basic medical kit to include suntan lotion, insect repellent, malaria tablets; water-bottle. During the summer months, (Nov. to April) we would expect rain so a lightweight waterproof jacket is a good idea. We suggest a sleeping bag range of “3-4 season”. These can be supplied by prior arrangement for a cost of N$25.00 per day.

Please arrange your own Travel Insurance for your medical cover / loss of luggage / curtailment of holiday due to sickness etc.

Visas and Permits for Namibia: See “About Namibia”
Namibia’s dry climate is very healthy! There are very few of the health problems in Namibia that are experienced elsewhere in Africa. Always consult your own doctor for malaria prophylactics. There is no malaria risk in the southern part of Namibia, low risk around Waterberg Plateau Park and high risk in the northern eastern regions.

Tap water throughout the areas you will visit is clean to drink. This applies to all campsites, hotels and restaurants. The Namibian Dollar (N$) is pegged onto the South African Rand (SAR)and is not an exchangeable currency out of the country .We would recommend bringing SA Rand. There is also a bank and ATM’s available at Windhoek International Airport on arrival, several banks and ATM’s in Windhoek city.
